All about HIV Self-Tests
HIV Self-Testing is now available throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. A self test consists of an oral swab (no finger pricks or blood), and results are usually available in 20 minutes. You can do it at home, at work, in your car - anywhere that works for you.
How to use an HIV Self-Test
Please watch the instructional guide below, which you can follow along once your test has arrived.
Please note that you should not brush your teeth, eat or drink, for at least 30 minutes before you begin the test. We recommend doing the test first thing in the morning.
If you have any questions about the self-testing process, please get in touch with us at Burnett Foundation Aotearoa.
